Mistake: Neglecting maintenance of sensors and equipment.

Faulty or dirty sensors and equipment can cause incorrect control, leading to inefficient operation and increased costs. Failing to implement or maintain proper equipment schedules in the BAS. Without schedules, HVAC and lighting systems often run continuously, even during unoccupied periods. This leads to unnecessary energy consumption, increased wear on equipment, and higher utility costs. Proper scheduling ensures systems operate only when needed, aligning with occupancy patterns and business hours.

Mistake: Failure to train staff.

Operators who don’t understand BAS logic often make changes or use manual overrides that could increase energy or occupant discomfort.

Q: How energy efficient are your solutions?

A: Our systems are designed for efficiency. With integrated HVAC, lighting, and security controls, you can reduce energy use, improve performance, and meet sustainability goals.

Q: How long does integration take?

A: Timelines vary depending on project size and existing infrastructure, but we work closely with your team to ensure minimal disruption and efficient deployment.

Q: What industries do you work with?

A: We work across a range of industries, including education, government, healthcare, corporate, industrial facilities, and more! Check out our Case Studies for comparable projects.

Q: Can a VRF recover after a night set back by running 24/7?

A: VRF systems do not need to operate 24/7 to recover from a night setback. With proper configuration, they can recover effectively. However, significant setbacks are not recommended, as VRF systems typically require more time to reach setpoint conditions unless supplemental heating is available.

Q: What made you choose the systems you represent?

A: We’ve selected trusted, industry-leading platforms—Automated Logic for HVAC control, Crestron for lighting, Gallagher for security, Hanwha for CCTV, and Edwards for fire alarm—because of their reliability, innovation, and seamless integration with our Building Automation System (BAS). Together, they provide a unified, efficient, and secure building management solution.

Q: Can I set and forget a BAS?

A: BAS requires continuous monitoring, tuning, and updates. Seasonal changes, occupancy shifts, and equipment aging demand adjustments.

Q: What geographic areas do you serve?

A: We primarily serve the Midwest region, including Missouri and Kansas, but we’re open to discussing projects outside this area depending on scope and scale.

Q: How do I get support or service after installation?

A: We offer ongoing support and maintenance to ensure your systems continue operating smoothly. Our local team is available for troubleshooting, upgrades, and system optimization. We also offer phone support during business hours.

Q: Can you support our existing system?

A: In some cases, yes. It depends on the type of system you have and whether it’s compatible with our solutions. Please contact us to discuss your specific setup.

Client Experiences

Great organization who really invests in their clients and participates as a member of a team! Can’t say enough about the work they do, the responsiveness, and the service provided. Top notch in my book! Even participates in our leadership retreat and celebrates with us the beginning of our year! Thank you Control Service Company.

Jim Poplau, Assistant Principal at PHMS

John Crownhart was incredibly responsive and produced outstanding work, and his entire team exhibited just as much confidence and professionalism. I really didn’t think the museum would be able to save that much energy, but once we began using the environmental index tool effectively, we saw some incredible results. Ultimately, the art was the customer and the right control systems are critical for preserving it. For me personally, I was so impressed with Control Service Company I took a job there!

Stan Chandler,
Former Director of Operations for The Nelson-Atkins Museum
